BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

ugh. I don't like either of those. The first one looks too much like something from a ricer, and the second one's spokes aren't long enough or too short. It looks awkward.

I also like a lot the original wheels from the Renault Alpine GTA :

The TE37 (first wheel) is a legendary wheel that is far from ricer level and the AMG Monoblocks are a bit of an acquired taste but do look good on the more boxy cars such as the 190e

They were, but they would have been a magnesium alloy...
They're aluminium nowadays because cheaper and more durable.

Looks good on any car and never gets old. A modern classic.

The AMG wheels only look good on Mercs. To be the best alloy I think they should be able to look good on a variety of wheels.
The Volks fit the bill more than the AMG wheels but have been copied so much they lose some of the special factor.

A variation of those used to be offered on a lot of Toyotas. My ex gf's dad had gold ones on his Camry.

I'm a bit biased, but I nominate the Deer Hoofs that I have on my truck:

RS Watanabe still offers the same style in magnesium. Here's a Porsche with those.
But here's another cool Watanabe wheel and naturally out of production ages ago. I present you the awesome Falcon Turbo.

Wire wheels are awesome but they aren't alloy wheels.

TE37s are kinda like Bohemian Rhapsody, it could be good, but it's just so overused and cliche....
And the AMGs... nah.
